Updated 3rd July
As the great majority of children in Year 1 have now returned to school 4 days a week, weekly online home learning timetables have ceased. A huge thank you and well done to those who have followed the learning at home during this period. For those that are staying home, keep reading, keep up the mathletics and have a wonderful summer. Optional summer learning tasks will be published at the end of term.
This is not compulsory and work will not be assessed. However, Reading should continue - e-books are available from Oxford Owl, Collins and Kingston library - and tasks will continue to be assigned on Mathletics.
We have created school videos for each of the letter sounds.
'Letters and Sounds' are also providing daily phonics lessons here:
- 10am lessons are aimed at children who can blend and read words such as ‘fish’ ‘chat’ and ‘rain’.
- 11am lessons are aimed at children who need extra practice sounding and reading cvc words such as ‘tap’ ‘cap’ ‘mat’ ‘pat.
For additional phonics videos look at Mr Thorne Does Phonics on youtube.

The British library is asking children to make and share homemade miniature books with its Twitter account @BL_Learning using the hashtag #DiscoveringChildrensBooks, or send them by email to email@example.com. It will commission an illustrator to create a virtual bookshelf to display the work. Look here for more information.
