We were thrilled last week to welcome the well known children's author Duncan Beedie to our school. Duncan is the author and illustrator of many wonderful books. He visited every classroom and shared his books; showed us how to draw the characters in his books; and answered many wonderful questions about being an author/illustrator, such as:

• How many days does it take to make a book? - It takes me about 6 months to make a book.
• What made you want to be an author/illustrator? - I always loved drawing.  I used to illustrate other people's books and then I had an idea for my own book.
• Which do you prefer doing - writing or illustrating? - I love drawing the most!

 Duncan Beedie sent us a message after his visit:

I was overwhelmed at how enthusiastic all the children were.   I am so glad the children enjoyed yesterday and I was genuinely touched by the children's enthusiasm for my stories.
