Children's Health and Medication
When your child joins our school we ask you lots of questions about them and any healthcare needs that they may have and medication that they may need to take during the school day. We will support your children in school with allergies and conditions such as asthma, eczema and any other underlying medical conditions. We are able to administer antibiotics (if required 4 times per day), and other medicines. We also have access to a wide range of services to support mental health and wellness needs that we can direct you to.
We ask parents and carers whose children have healthcare needs to complete an Individual Healthcare Plan for their child which is available here Individual Healthcare plan.
If medication needs to be administered during the school day we ask you to complete a Medication Agreement form which is available here Medication Agreement form.
General Health Support
There is a helpful website “Healthier Together” which provides parents and carers with information on common childhood illnesses, focused on south-west London. The website is designed to prevent unnecessary attendance of children to A&E by signposting parents and carers to the right point of care. It includes advice on when and where to seek appropriate care, please see the following link: http://www.swlondon-healthiertogether.nhs.uk.
There is a particularly helpful section “Should my child go to school/nursery today?” which you may find useful but as always please contact the School Office if in doubt before sending your child into school.
